In brief

  • The word "instant" can describe different approaches.
  • Cavities, gum health, chewing and tooth position need to be assessed before any cosmetic restoration.
  • Ask how a stain, wear or a fracture would be handled and what adjustments are possible.

Be clear about what is offered

The word "instant" can describe different approaches. Ask whether it means composite shaped directly on the tooth or pieces made in a laboratory and bonded on. The material, how the tooth is prepared and the upkeep should be clearly stated.

Do not let speed replace the assessment

Cavities, gum health, chewing and tooth position need to be assessed before any cosmetic restoration. Quick treatment does not show that it suits your mouth. The steps that matter are still tailored to you.

Ask the long-term questions

Ask how a stain, wear or a fracture would be handled and what adjustments are possible. Compare with whitening or orthodontics if your goal is mainly colour or alignment. A lasting result is planned beyond the day the veneers are fitted.
