Periodontology and gum care in Marrakech
Bleeding or receding gums, loosening teeth: looking after your gums means protecting the foundation of your teeth.
The 6 treatments in periodontology.
The gums and the bone around the teeth form their foundation. Inflammation that sets in can reach this support, often without causing pain. In periodontology, at our clinic in Guéliz, everything begins with an examination that measures the condition of your gums and defines the care to put in place.

These answers remain general. At the consultation, we answer precisely for your situation.
Are bleeding gums normal?
No. Regular bleeding when brushing signals inflammation. It is a useful warning sign that deserves an examination without waiting too long.
Can gum recession be stopped?
Treatment aims to stabilise the situation and slow its progression. Bone that has already been lost does not usually come back, which is why acting early matters.
Is a scale and polish enough?
Sometimes, yes. When deposits have formed below the gum line, root planing becomes necessary. The examination can tell.
Have you heard this before?
“Loosening of the teeth is inevitable with age.”
No. It is most often linked to gum disease, which can be treated and stabilised if it is dealt with.
“A tooth that moves is bound to be lost.”
Not necessarily. When the looseness comes from the gums, treatment can sometimes stabilise it. It is better to come in without waiting.
“A mouthwash is enough to treat the gums.”
No. It removes neither the plaque nor the tartar settled below the gum line. Brushing and cleaning by the dentist remain the basis.
“The gums have nothing to do with the rest of your health.”
They are more linked than people think. Smoking and diabetes, for example, encourage gum disease. Mention them at the assessment.
