The specialty in detail

The 7 treatments in cosmetic dentistry.

Cosmetic dentistry is not just about whiter teeth. Shape, shade, position and balance with the face matter just as much. In Marrakech, your plan is built with you, starting from what you would like to change and what the health of your teeth allows.

    • The shape
    • The shade

    Dental veneers

Thin shells of porcelain to correct the shape and shade of your teeth, towards a harmonious smile that looks like you.

Who is it for? To change the shape or shade of visible teeth, on healthy teeth and gums. Teeth grinding is taken into account in the choice.

    • The shape
    • The shade

    Composite veneers (composite bonding)

Reshape or re-colour certain teeth with composite resin, after studying your smile.

Who is it for? For certain defects of shape or shade and small gaps, when the assessment allows a composite restoration to be considered.

    • The shade

    Teeth whitening

Lighten the natural shade of your teeth, at the clinic or at home, with a protocol supervised from start to finish.

Who is it for? To lighten natural teeth. Crowns, veneers and composite fillings do not change shade: the examination makes this clear.

    • The whole smile

    Hollywood smile

Rethink your whole visible smile, with a plan studied in detail and agreed with you at every stage.

Who is it for? To redo the whole visible smile, once necessary treatment has been completed. The plan is discussed in detail before starting.

    • The whole smile

    Smile design (DSD)

See your future smile before touching a single tooth, so that you can decide calmly and with confidence.

Who is it for? For anyone considering a cosmetic plan who would like to see it, and talk it through, before any tooth is touched.

    • The gums

    Partial gingivectomy

Correct a localised excess of gum, when the examination confirms that a limited procedure is suitable.

Who is it for? For excess gum in a limited area, when the assessment shows that a targeted correction is suitable.

    See the treatment
    • The gums

    Extended gingivectomy

Consider a more extensive correction of excess gum, suited to the areas involved in your plan.

Who is it for? For excess gum tissue across several teeth, after studying the extent of the correction and the tissues to preserve.

  • Unsure between two treatments?

The most suitable option for your situation is chosen together, after the examination.

What you would like to change

What would you like to change about your smile?

Choose what brings you here: these are the treatments to mention during the consultation, and what to know beforehand.

A shade that bothers you

Explain the change of shade you are looking for and mention any restorations you already have.

Whitening applies to natural teeth. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers or other prostheses.

The shape of a tooth

Point out the area that bothers you and ask which options could be considered for that tooth.

A veneer can harmonise the shape or shade of a tooth. The plan takes into account the enamel, the bite and the condition of the gums.

Several things to rethink

Note what matters most to you before discussing an overall plan.

Preserve before transforming. A cavity or gum disease is treated before a veneer plan.

Excess gum

For excess gum in a limited area, when the assessment shows that a targeted correction is suitable.

Inflammation or another cause of the excess gum must also be taken into account.

Overlapping teeth

The position of the teeth can be part of the plan.

An assessment allows you to discuss orthodontic treatment and its constraints.

Frequently asked questions

Cosmetic dentistry: your questions.

These answers remain general. At the consultation, we answer precisely for your situation.

Do the teeth need to be reshaped for veneers?

Not always. Depending on the type of veneer and the condition of the teeth, the preparation may be light or more extensive. What is needed in your case is explained after the examination.

Does whitening work on all teeth?

No. Crowns, composite fillings and veneers keep their shade, and some deep stains respond little. The examination tells you what you can expect.

Can treatment and cosmetic work be done together?

Yes, but in that order. Necessary treatment comes first, because a lasting cosmetic plan relies on healthy teeth and gums.

Have you heard this before?

“Veneers mean grinding the teeth down a lot.”

Not necessarily. The preparation depends on the situation and is often limited to the surface of the enamel. It is decided after an examination.

“Whitening weakens teeth.”

Not when it is properly indicated and supervised by a dentist. Temporary sensitivity may appear, and suitability is decided after an examination.

“A beautiful smile means very white, identical teeth.”

No. A natural smile fits the face, the lips and the gums. The plan is built with you, with photos to support it.

“A Hollywood smile suits everyone.”

No. It assumes healthy teeth and gums to begin with, and does not meet every request. Suitability is decided after an examination.
